Yacht Racing 2008

This year RLymYC will offer on-line entry to most race events via the "Sailracer" race management system, this includes the early Thursday Evening KB series. We intend this to reduce time and trouble for both competitors and our office costs.

For RLymYC members entry to the series and registration with Sailracer is free. You will need to give your name and your Club membership number (on the back of your members card). You will also be pre-allocated a password by the Club. You won't have to keep repeating your names and address details!. If you are entering under IRC you must have sent us (via Sailracer or direct) a copy of a valid IRC certificate for your boat.

For  members of the Lymington Town Sailing Club a race entry to the early series is not charged. However you will need a credit card to register with Sailracer and this will be charged a VOLUNTARY £5 registration fee. We need a copy of your IRC if applicable.

Entrants from other sailing clubs who are not members of RLymYC or LTSC will be charged a race entry fee of £10 per race (or £60 for the series of 9 races) and a registration fee of £5. The same fees will be charged for the late Series. We need a copy of your IRC if applicable.

Sailracer is a relatively new system but is being used extensively and successfully for on line entry, payment  and race management by the RYA dinghy events this year. It uses Google to process credit card fees and people doing this have to sign up (once off) to a Google password. A few members had trouble with this process for the Spring Series - believed to be due to low bandwidth WWW connections, Sailracer and Google are working on this and tell us the incidence is less than !%.  But if this should happen to you please note down any error messages and save any possible screen shots and inform us. We can arrange for you to pay by cheque or debit card if necessary.

1. When you first enter the Sailracer Royal Lymington Screen - ignore the LOGIN Event ID and Password boxes.

2. If you see an event selection box pick Thursday evenings, otherwise go to step 3

3. Then Select the box which says Enter Online.

4. Complete the relevant boxes for LTSC member, or Visitors, or RLYMYC members

5. Then fill in the entry screens for class and your details. Read the declaration ,assuming you agree select YES on the declaration box.

6. You do NOT need to print out and sign any entry declaration form

7. If you are racing IRC and you have not yet sent the Club your valid 2008 certificate please attach it, or fax it.

nb.. If you are not a RLYMYC member you need to complete the payment stage before you can race.
